I Get Nervous Watching the Wife Pack.

Whenever you're traveling and have to share space with a woman, it's not good. Guys are all about needs. I actually think we compete over who can pack the least. As for the ladies, well, you battle for bulk. I really don't know what goes on in your mind when packing for a trip. You obviously assume we're gonna get stranded on a deserted island.

Let's replay a recent beach trip with my family. It was about 7am and I get a call from my dad. "Son, I hope y'all don't have too much stuff because your mother already has the back pretty full." While he was saying this, I was watching my wife drag several suitcases to the front door. During our conversation, I watched her petite pile become a mighty mound. Finally, my dad said, "Son, I gotta go...the more we talk, the more she packs."

About 20 minutes later, my parents pulled into our driveway to pick us up. When my dad finally fell out of the car, he looked as if he'd just finished a marathon. Several beads of sweat dribbled down his check as he walked towards me, shaking his head. Feeling his pain, all I could do was point towards my wife's stack to pack. This was not good.

After finally getting very creative and stuffing the trunk, we were not in the best of moods. To be honest, we were a comment or two away from having a man vs woman shouting match in the middle of the driveway on a beautiful, quiet Saturday morning. But, we made the smart decision. We just bit our lip and remembered something very important...

When she ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

  1. What's the point of traveling if you can't bring all your nice stuff? Sorry Hub, I'm with her on this one....

  2. I agree with the way I ended it. "When she ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."

  3. All guys can pack the essentials inside of ten minutes. Well inside ten minutes.

  4. I usually start packing about 5 minutes before we leave and it drives the wife crazy. It may just be how I get back at her for over-packing.
