Don't Hate Hubby

The Hub Loves the VERY Rare Silent Moments.

Shhhhh, it's very quiet. As I type this, everyone is still asleep. It's about 7:30 in the morning and all I hear are a few pops and cracks throughout the house. This is feeling very therapeutic...a zen moment.

As I sit in this chair with hair standing in every direction, I feel completely calm. My computer, coffee, and keyboard seem as relaxing as a massage on the balcony of a Bermuda resort. I've been tapping on this keyboard for about 3 minutes and I'm in a state of complete serenity. It's now 7:33 and I just heard a car crank a few houses down. This is pretty rare...pretty rare that I can sit back and listen to house cracks, car cranks, and silence. Very therapeutic.

By the time you read this, I will have already yelled,
"JACK!" "SLOW DOWN JACK!" JACK, PLEASE STOP!"  NOOOOOOOOO JACK!" "JACK, DON'T TOUCH THAT!" I will have heard the refrigerator open at least 20 times along with several crashes, thuds, yells, whimpers, and "Daddy" hollers. I gotta be honest, it's been very nice being holed-up on the computer working on this blog post. I'm sorta scared to finish it.

Oh well, I better stop now, because I certainly don't want to come across as a whiner. Parenting is much harder than we predict.  Although it's wild and challenging, it is an awesome ride. There's definitely moments when you just wanna stop time and get in a fetal position, but those are somewhat rare. I wouldn't trade a thing for witnessing these growing years and trust me, I thank God every day.

And beer.

  3. I tip my beer to anyone who had 5 little girls. That's impressive and makes me sound silly....I've got one child.

    That's awesome, Shelly.
